5.0 out of 5 stars All-in-all a fairly priced bean to cup fully automatic coffee machine.
I bought this as a replacement for a Melitta T-Smart machine, which was nice but began to fail down to one simple bearing when it was 2.5 to 3 years old. I could not simply source this bearing anywhere or even the whole motor drive component containing the bearing, maybe a Brexit thing but some of the prices I did find were off the scale of an economic repair. I didn’t get much help from Melitta, other than sending it to their approved repairers, that starts to become expensive. I am able to repair it but without the spares, I was drifting along that well travelled creek! They did offer to push the matter along to another department but I never heard from them – so if any Melitta folk are reading this & are offended…….
After that I tried a Melitta Solo, that broke very quickly & was soon returned.
I will include a few comparisons within my review.
So I put my researching hat on & opted for a brand change. I’ve had the machine for coming up two months & I am impressed, it is simple to use, simple to adjust the plethora of drink options but retains the last used within any types of the drinks served. I only drink black coffee (hence trying the Solo) but I get 3 options, you can easily adjust the strength & size of each drink. I read some reviews regarding the milk temperature & initially tried warming the milk for 30 seconds in the microwave but after a spell the milk drinkers in the house stopped bothering & are happy with the finished article.
Overall I feel the unit makes a good brew, it is easier to keep clean on it’s insides when the brew unit has been removed. The water tank is of a good capacity, takes a little care to avoid spillages as it is wide & narrow, the filters last for 2 months & there is a nifty little slider on the water tank numbered 1 to 12 which you can move as & when the filter is changed. The water tank is on the left side of the machine so placement in your kitchen maybe a consideration.
Overall size is similar to others out there, it only has rubber feet so you really need to lift it to move in order to clean around machine. Comparing this Siemens machine with the Melitta T-Smart had wheels on the back so you only need to left the front up too move it about, to get around this I had ordered a Coolina (Premium Sliding Board Glider for Fully Automatic Coffee Machine – Suitable for Siemens EQ Series – Made of Acrylic Anthracite) board from Amazon to sit beneath the machine, not the cheapest but one-off purchases are sometimes like that & they are quality products.
**** EDIT – THE BOARD THAT ARRIVED WAS AS SMALLER ONE FOR A THERMOMIX & NOT AS STATED IN THE BLURB, THEREFORE I RETURNED THAT BOARD, THE CORRECT ONE IS OUT OF STOCK AND THE RETURN IS TO THE EU & IT LOOKS LIKE COOLINA DO NOT SHIP DIRECTLY TO THE UK, SO I’LL BE SCRATCHING MY HEAD ON THAT ONE FOR A WHILE. ****
Water tank capacity is similar to the T-Smart but the the Solo was only small & you end up filling every other brew.
The bean hopper is huge but only holds one type of bean, whereas the T-Smart holds 2 types so you can have mild / full-flavoured or normal / decaffeinated. However the ground coffee option, using a little pull out drawer on the side works better than the Melitta method but you do have to remember to use the bean strength button to select the ground coffee option, there is even a scoop slotted into the machine if you don’t have one.
I’ve given up drinking instant coffee, the cafetiere / French press option is fine for nice flavoured coffees but leaves you with a bit of a cleaning up faffage with all the wet grounds, not best to just pour them down your kitchen sink as they can collect in nooks & crannies, spread them around the garden yes but apparently they can be acidic towards some plants & on occasion it may just rain in the UK.
Yes I am a coffee snob, I love buying a coffee whilst I am out & about from independent providers but I also like to drink nice coffee at home & I recommend this machine. I cannot comment on it’s life expectancy but for now It is doing just fine, is fit for purpose & I am happy with the price I paid.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a machine
    What’s not to like..??

It looks great, so you don’t mind it taking up a fair bit of kitchen surface real estate…

The touch screen makes it an absolute doddle to use…

Spends a lot of time cleaning itself, so easy to look after…

Best of all it makes excellent coffee….. I realise this is of course a lot to do with the beans and we are lucky to have a very good roastery local to us. But despite this my French mother in law rates the expresso as one of the best she has had, and it makes the best flat white I have had anywhere…..

    Recommended!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great coffee machine
Makes great fresh coffee, my only complaint would be that the coffee could be a little hotter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Makes great coffee, but milk could be hotter
I got this as it had 50% off, and it looks nice, makes great coffee and is easy to use (drink selection, cleaning, and the provided milk cannister is easier to keep clean than the De’Longhi one we have at work). There are a few negatives though, like the milk not being heated enough from fridge temperature (if you heat it on the hob slightly, it’s fine, but heat it too much and it’ll splutter and not much come out), the drip tray fills up more than expected considering we put a bowl under the nozzles when turning it on/off (where is this water coming from?), and it asks for it to be emptied sometimes when there’s almost nothing in it.

If you don’t care much for milky coffees, then it’s perfect, otherwise you may be a little disappointed. I’m reasonably happy with it, but I wouldn’t buy it at full price though, and if it heated the milk better it would get 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing
Some people have commented on the coffee being warm, simply not true nice and hot. I used illy beans for my fist experience and I can honestly say. Well worth the purchase. The coffee is fantastic. Am not usually a latte fan but this makes creamy latte. I picked this one because of the ceramic grinder and it makes a difference. No burnt coffee grinds. I would recommend this if ur after a simple to use machine that looks good on the kitchen and makes really good coffee

5.0 out of 5 stars Siemens coffee machine
Very easy to operate this machine

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaked, uses too much water, drip tray needs constant emptying
I was really looking forward to using this machine. It makes decent but luke warm coffee (despite heating the cups 1st).

However it leaks, maybe I am unlucky. But the drip tray was constantly needing emptying according to the machine. It goes through a cleaning and run through cycle every time you switch on when it switches off. Despite putting a glass underneath the spouts to catch the water the drip tray ‘warning’ kept asking for it to be emptied even when there was little or no water in there. Water leaking onto the worktop was a constant issue & as a consequence the water needs constantly topping up. returned after 2 weeks for a refund. Disappointed this is not normal Siemens quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes great coffee easily
This is a great machine. It automatically produces a good black coffee as well as a range of milk based coffees. There are loads of options to refine the drink to your taste, brew temp, amount of water, quantity of coffee etc, so it’s ability to remember favourites is great. The cleaning programme is easy, but it does seem to request a clean quite frequently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent gadget
Really glad I bought this machine does everything it is supposed to. I was nervous about spending out on a coffee machine having read reviews saying coffee too cold, but I found it exactly right the water is hot enough to make tea and great hot chocolate.
I would say if you put milk in from the fridge, I use almond milk, warm it first, and it’s great.
It is also straight forward to clean, a little tip rather than reading the instructions which are a little bit of a chore go on line and watch a video.
All in all I have had this machine for two weeks and couldn’t be happier with it.
    Ten stars

4.0 out of 5 stars Milk coffee is lukewarm with cold milk
So far I’ve done around 30+ cups and what is very noticeable, the milk coffees are not hot, they are just warm.. or lukewarm. In order to get your Latte or Cappuccino hot (or nearly hot) you need to pre-heat your milk or use room temp milk. Also the size of the cups programmed in the machine does not match, I use normal 200-250ml cups and set the size of coffee to 280 and as result my Cappuccino fills 3/4 of the 250ml cup and it does not matter if the grinder settings are fine or coarse.
I measured milk temperature going from the nozzle and it reaches max 48’C. I tried also espresso shots and it hits max 67’C (while temp of brewing set to MAX on the machine settings). To compare, I checked a milk temp in the office FRANKE machine and it hits 67’C, so a way more.
I am going to call Siemens after Christmas to check if this is faulty unit or this is normal for this machine.
Also in order to get a best flavour of your coffee, you need to brew at least one cup before it gets into best results.
PS: I used to have a cheap 100 Euro Lidl espresso machine with an automatic milk frother and it used to make a very hot milk.
I will let you know if I found the solution after I called Siemens service. Otherwise, I am willing to return this coffee machine.

UPDATE: I cancelled service call as machine started working fine, I mean with room temp milk in the box it gives now hot coffee. I read reviews of many B2C machines and they all have same issue with milk, even expensive Jura S8 so this is the way it is.
    Coffe flvour is great

4.0 out of 5 stars Milk is not enough warm
Let me put here just facts:
    – For me the most important things are flavour of blend and warmness of coffee – Milk was just not enough hot. I believe temperature of coffee is below 50 degrees.
-Machine looks great – its automatic on 1 click – but after you get used to it, its about quality of coffee.
-One of the reasons i bought this machine was great discount – 980 pounds to 498 pounds (in Dec 2023), but i can see now machine was already regulard price 550 (without discount), today 650 (February 3rd). So its obvious manipulation with price.
Between Cappuchino , Late Machiatto and Flat white, the warmest is Latte Machiatto .
Cleaning of the machine is not ideal – even process is automatic, and you set up cup under the machine ,water will always be inside that needs to be removed.
Thank you Amazon for opportunity of trying machine and return it. I’ve return mine because i was not completely happy with it. As Gaggia Cadorno prestige is above my budget, most likely i will try something more manual like Sage.
